It is with heavy hearts that Dance Dynamics Studios announces that Faith Arrula, one of our long time dancers, passed away September 21st as the sun set on the last day of summer. Faith danced in jazz, cheer, ballet, open, hip hop, tumbling, and lyrical throughout the last 10 years of her life.
Faith was a passionate dancer who took every opportunity as a chance to improve herself and her dancing skills. And when it came to challenges, it only motivated her to keep trying her hardest. Faith made an effort to always encourage her dance friends to continue dancing even when times get tough, and to always make sure that you put your all into every class, performance, and competition you do.
This last summer at the Dancin Dayz competition, Faith won 1st place overall, highest in her division and highest score of the day with 283 points for her solo performance of Mr. Forgettable. This was Faith’s first and only solo. She was incredibly proud of herself of course, as were her family, friends and teachers.
Faith unfortunately developed bacterial meningitis after a sinus infection. Bacterial meningitis is a life threatening infection that is extremely rare and hard to detect, and can often be mistaken for the flu. Bacterial meningitis should not be confused with viral or fungal meningitis, or meningococcal, which are much more common. It is important to know the symptoms and to educate yourself and your loved ones.
The Arrula family and Dance Dynamics will be working together to honor Faith with an annual dance scholarship that will be presented to a student who will keep Faith’s light present always in the studios
